Welcome to the Department of Pediatrics and Preventive Dentistry. “Planting the seeds of healthy smiles”

Pediatric dentistry is an age defined speciality that provides both primary and comprehensive, Preventive and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs.

Our concerns at the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry are the health of a child as a whole, more specifically the oral health; early diagnosis and prompt treatment: restoring the mouth to good health; to observe and control the necessary developing dentition of the child patient relief of pain increase awareness among parents and care-givers; instill a positive attitude and behaviour; restore the lost tooth structure and management of patients who are physically mentally disabled and medically compromised children in an efficient and orderly manner so as to avoid discomfort to the patient and at the same time avoiding any bias towards the special condition of the children.

We focus on teaching various skills and knowledge to the students which makes them efficient in handling children and giving them the best oral health care. Students are also taught about management of children with special needs, thus making the students capable of treating a child with utmost care and precision and keeping the little one on the path to healthy smiles.

We, in the Department are of the firm belief that “Kids deserve only the best in care”.
