Periodontics

The Department of Periodontology and Implantology follows and justifies the new definition of Periodontics as adapted by American and European Dental and Specialty Associations. “Periodontics is that specialty of dentistry which encompasses the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the supporting and surrounding tissues of the teeth or their substitutes and the maintenance of the health, function and esthetics of these structures and tissues.”

We cater to all the patients coming to our department and provide knowledge & clinical practical solutions regarding etiology, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases involving supporting periodontal tissues i.e. gingiva, periodontal ligament, cementum and alveolar bone. Dental implants and related treatments are also our mainstream services.

Periodontal procedures mainly include nonsurgical and surgical treatments of periodontium and peri-implant tissues. Nonsurgical periodontal therapy includes scaling and root planing, local drug delivery and systemic antibiotics among others.
