Orthodontics

Orthodontics, formally Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics is the first specialty of dentistry that is concerned with the study and treatment of malocclusions (improper bites), which may be a result of tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships, or both. Orthodontic treatment can focus on dental displacement only, or can deal with the control and modification of facial growth. In the latter case it is better defined as "dentofacial orthopaedics".

Department of orthodontics trains and educates the students to be competent in treating and managing patients who require preventive, interceptive and corrective care  of malposed teeth and jaws.  The teaching program includes extensive clinical and laboratory training of students in the areas of removable and fixed orthodontic appliances.The Department caters to the needs of patients requiring correction of malposed teeth by fixed /removable appliances.

He is a Post-graduate teacher & guide who have 13 years of teaching experience. Dr. Suresh Kangane completed his under-graduation in 1998 from CSMSS Dental College & Hospital, Aurangabad following which he did his masters in orthodontics in 2002 From Nair Hospital Dental College; Mumbai. He has participated in national conferences; presented posters and papers and having various publications in national & speciality journals. He has been actively involved UG & PG student teaching and private practice limited to Orthodontics.

Dr. Anand Ambekar completed his under-graduation from CSMSS Dental College & Hospital, Aurangabad following which he did his masters in orthodontics in 2003 From PMNM Dental College, Bagalkot.  He is a life member of Indian orthodontic society. Attended many national and international conferences and presented papers. He is having many national & international publications on his name. He has been actively involved in teaching and private practice limited to Orthodontics.

Dr. Pravin Marure completed his under-graduation in 2006 from CODS Dental College & Hospital, Davangere following which he did his masters in orthodontics in 2011 From KLE Institute of dental Sciences, Banglore. He is a life member of Indian orthodontic society & has participated in national conferences; presented posters and papers in state & national conferences and having various publications in national & international journals. He has lectured extensively and has been a part of the continuing dental education programs. He has been actively involved in teaching and has knowledge & treatment experience of all different orthodontic cases.

Dr. Yatishkumar Joshi completed his under-graduation in 2007 from BDCS, Davangere, following which he did his masters in orthodontics in 2011 From A.B.S.M.I.D.S, Manglore.  He has participated in national conferences; presented posters and papers. He is a recipient of many awards for best outgoing student and for best poster presentation in national convention. He is well versed with multiple modalities of orthodontics treatment.

Following which he did his masters in orthodontics in 2014 From Kamineni Institute of Dental sciences, Narketpally.  He has attended many national conferences & conventions and conducted CDE in the department. He is also apt in clinical knowledge & skill with practicing all modalities of orthodontic treatment.
